Seit 2014 unterstützt die Udo Lindenberg Stiftung St. Joseph House of Hope Foundation in Kenia. In der kleinen Gemeinde Majengo, nahe Mombasa, liegt das gleichnamige Schul- und Ausbildungszentrum. Rund 350 Schüler*innen und Auszubildende lernen hier.

Angefangen hat alles mit dem Bau einer Wasseranlage, umgesetzt von der Udo Lindenberg Stiftung und ihrem Partner Water is Right Foundation. Später kamen kleinere Ausbildungsprojekte hinzu, woraus die Idee entstand, ein Trainingszentrum für Kfz-Mechatroniker*innen mit angeschlossener Lehrwerkstatt zu bauen. Gestartet in 2017 wird hier inzwischen der erste Azubijahrgang ausgebildet. Der Udo Lindenberg Stiftung ist es gelungen, St. Joseph House of Hope in das internationale Ausbildungsprogramm PAVE (Porsche Afteresales Vocational Education) einzugliedern. Dieses globale Konzept ist die Antwort auf moderne Technologien, wie E-Mobilität, Hochvoltaik und Digitalisierung. PAVE wird in das kenianische Curriculum integriert und vermittelt neben den neusten technischen Kenntnissen auch soziale Kompetenzen.

Anlässlich des Projektstarts im Februar 2023 in Cape Town, haben wir einen Film gemacht. St. Joseph Gründerin Caroline Bockle erzählt über ihre Anfänge, ihre Visionen und was PAVE für die Zukunft bedeutet. Das Video zeigt auch die nachhaltige Arbeit der Udo Lindenberg Stiftung, die maßgeblich zum Aufbau beigetragen hat. Es gibt Einblick in die Wartung der Wasseranlage und zeigt weitere Ausbildungsmöglichkeiten in St. Joseph House of Hope.

Since 2014 the Udo Lindenberg Foundation supports St. Joseph House of Hope Foundation in Kenya. They rule a school- and educationcenter in Majengo, which is close to Mombasa. The plot gives home for more than 350 pupils and students.

It all started with the construction of a water system, which was done by the ULF and their partners of Water is Right Foundation. Later the foundation involved itself in the support of education- and training programs. This were the roots of the idea to construct a trainingcenter with a workshop for practical education. In the meantime it started working.

With the connection of the ULF St. Joseph House of Hope Foundation became part of the worldwide PAVE (Porsche Aftersales Vocational Education) program. Integrated in the Kenyan Curriculum it teaches modern technical as well as life and social skills. Beside Majengo you will finde PAVE in Mexiko, Manila and Cape Town. The cooperation was official launched end of February 2023 in Cape Town.

For presenting the center there, we have made a movie. The founder of St. Joseph House of Hope, Caroline Bockle, talks about her story, shows us the place, introduces her visions and tells us, what PAVE means for the future of the project. The video also shows the sustainable work of the Udo Lindenberg Foundation, which was supporting St. Joseph in growing for the last ten years.
